You can open a Qonto business account if you:
• are the legal representative of the company, or
• have a power of attorney and proof of identity of a legal representative.
In both cases, simply follow this link: https://welcome.qonto.com/ to open the account.
Account opening as a legal representative
If you are a legal representative, follow the classic account opening process by clicking on one of the displayed names. If you are a legal representative but do not appear on the list, click on “Enter your information”.
Account opening with the power of attorney
If you are not a legal representative, we will need a Power of Attorney and the legal representative’s valid ID to open an account. Select No to the legal representative question.
Once your account is created, we will automatically contact the legal representative and request their signature on the Power of Attorney and their valid ID.
Why is this needed
We need a signed Power of Attorney and a valid ID from the legal representative to confirm that the person opening the account is authorised to act on behalf of the company. Our team must receive and validate the signed document before we can fully activate the Qonto account. Until this is completed, some features remain limited, even if the account owner has already verified their identity.
Important Notice
You can only use your company's Qonto account for business activities, such as paying salaries, paying invoices, etc. Using the Qonto account to collect funds on behalf of third parties is not allowed. In this case, Qonto will close your account with a 30-day notice.
