If your company is not registered yet, you can open a Qonto account and proceed with your initial capital deposit with us (except for SCI).
As a reminder, sole traders, as well as micro-enterprises, are not required to go through a capital deposit process, since these organizations are already registered in their own name.
Foreign companies:
Qonto is available in 8 markets: France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Austria, and the Netherlands. Foreign companies can open a Qonto account if they are registered and headquartered in one of these countries.
⚠️ Exception (France only): Foreign companies registered with the French RCS whose parent company is based in Germany, Spain, Italy, or the United Kingdom are also eligible.
Holding companies:
Existing French holding companies, both active and passive, can open a Qonto account 100% online, in just a few minutes.
Which business activities are not accepted?
Please note that beyond the legal form, certain business activities are not accepted by Qonto:
- Activities related to drugs, cannabis-based products or derivatives of any kind (including CBD/hemp leaves, flowers, resin, e-liquids, with a THC content of more than 0.2%)
- Activities of financial/tax agents if not registered with a supervisory authority
- Cultivation of fibre plants, spices, aromatic, medicinal and pharmaceutical plants
- Sale of artworks or art objects including facsimiles, auction houses
- Operating a marketplace
- Crowdfunding platforms not registered as an ECSP – European Crowdfunding Service Provider (BaFin licence), marketplaces collecting funds on behalf of third parties, crowdlending
- Factoring, debt collection activities
- Money transfer platforms, remittance services, P2P ("Peer-to-Peer" or "Person-to-Person") payment services
- Trading/brokerage platforms or any activities related to currencies, precious metals, gemstones, other products and securities
- Hunting, trapping and related activities
- Any illegal activity
- Cartomancy, fortune-telling, clairvoyance, astrology, tarology, spirituality
- Casinos, gambling and any participation in online lotteries
- Military activities, including the sale of weapons, military vehicles and their replicas
- Mining, staking, creation and/or marketing of NFTs, blockchain development, development of wallets (hot & cold wallets), decentralised exchange, crypto-asset services without BaFin registration or licence.
- Online file sharing
- Online and in-store sale of industrial or cosmetic chemicals
- Online and in-store sale of protein powders, dietary supplements and medications
- Sex (pornography, sex toys, escort, prostitution, strip club/nightclub)
- Strip clubs, nightclubs
- Tobacco products or smoking products (e-liquids)
- Activities related to the issuance of emission credits
- Activities related to the mining industry
- Activities related to the extraction, mining and processing of non-renewable natural resources
- Sale of goods/services that may violate or damage the reputation, honour or standing of others
- Insurance brokerage activities if not registered with a competent authority
