How do I install and set up my Qonto eSIM?

  • Updated

With Qonto’s Mobile data feature, you can purchase and manage eSIM data plans for business travel directly from your Qonto app.

An eSIM is a digital SIM card that connects you to local mobile networks abroad – no physical SIM swap needed.

How do I get started?

Before your first trip, follow these steps to get your eSIM up and running:

  1. Choose your destination: Select Local (one country), Regional, or Global coverage depending on your trip.
  2. Choose a data plan: Pick the data capacity you need – 1 GB, 5 GB, 10 GB, or 20 GB – and pay with your Qonto account.
  3. Install your eSIM: This is a one-time setup. Once it's done, you're ready to travel and can reuse the same eSIM for every future trip.
  4. Name your eSIM: Change the name of your eSIM so you don’t mistake it with others you might have on your device.
  5. Activate on arrival: Activate your mobile data plan once you arrive at your destination.

How do I install my eSIM?

After your first purchase, go to the Mobile data section of your Qonto app and tap on your data plan. You'll see three installation options:

  • Direct installation (recommended): your phone guides you through the setup automatically.
  • Manual installation: enter the installation details yourself.
  • Installation on another device: scan a QR code to install the eSIM on the phone you'll be travelling with.

Make sure the device you're installing the eSIM on is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network before you begin.

Do I need to install my eSIM every time I buy a data plan?

No. The eSIM installation is a one-time process.

Once it's installed, you can purchase new data plans whenever you travel without installing anything again. After it’s installed, don’t delete it – you can keep using the same eSIM whenever you buy a new data plan.
