What are the different Qonto cards?

Qonto offers a range of Mastercard cards designed to match your business spending needs. From essential everyday cards to premium options with exclusive benefits, each card type provides different payment limits, insurance, coverage, and features.

You can choose between physical cards for in-store and online payments, or virtual cards for digital transactions and team expense management. Physical cards are available in three tiers – One, Plus, X and Mirror – each with increasing spending limits and premium features. Virtual options include standard virtual cards, instant cards for one-off expenses, and specialized online advertising cards for marketing campaigns.

Card availability depends on your Qonto plan, with some cards included free in your subscription and others available for an additional monthly fee. Check what your subscription includes right here. All cards can be used immediately after creation.

 

What physical cards can I order?

Qonto provides three types of physical Mastercard debit cards that can be used immediately after creation for in-store and online payments.

Your subscription includes one or more free One Cards depending on your plan.

One Card – €5/month VAT excluded (or free with your plan)

  • Mastercard Business debit card
  • Pay up to €20,000 per calendar month
  • Withdraw up to €1,000 per calendar month
  • Unlimited free payments in Europe
  • €2.40 per withdrawal
  • 2% foreign exchange commission on non-euro payments (no fixed fees)
  • Produced from recycled ocean plastic

 

Plus Card – €8/month VAT excluded

  • Mastercard World debit card
  • Customizable colors: silver, black or purple
  • Choose between embossed or printed cards
  • Pay up to €40,000 per calendar month
  • Withdraw up to €2,000 per calendar month
  • Unlimited free payments in Europe
  • 5 free withdrawals per month, then €2.40 per withdrawal
  • 1% foreign exchange commission on non-euro payments (no fixed fees)
  • Advanced card insurance coverage
  • Produced from recycled ocean plastic

 

X Card – €2o/month VAT excluded

Plus and X Cards are also available as credit cards, allowing you to spend now and repay on the 1st of the following month. Learn more about credit card options.

 

Mirror Card – €30/month VAT excluded

☝️ Important: The Mirror Card is a limited edition payment card with premium settings and advantages. Only 10,000 cards are available in two finishes: 5,000 gold mirror and 5,000 black mirror. Once the stock is sold out, it will no longer be available.

 

What virtual cards can I use?

Qonto offers multiple virtual card options for online payments and digital wallet transactions through Google Pay and Apple Pay. Virtual cards can be included in your plan or cost €2/month (VAT excluded) depending on your subscription.

Standard virtual cards:

  • Make online payments up to €20,000 per calendar month
  • Add to Google Pay or Apple Pay for contactless physical payment
  • Can order up to 5 virtual cards per account holder

  • Eliminate the need to share permanent cards or pay out-of-pocket

How do I enable Strong Customer Authentication for higher limits?

Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) is required to access the highest payment limits on X Cards (€200,000 per month instead of €60,000).

To activate SCA, you need to pair your mobile phone with your Qonto account. This adds an extra layer of security to your transactions and unlocks premium card limits. Follow these steps to pair your phone with your Qonto account.

We strongly recommend enabling SCA to maximize your card's potential and enhance your account security.

 

Can I restrict card usage to specific categories like fuel?

Yes, you can customize card spending controls if you have an Essential, Business, or Enterprise plan.

While Qonto doesn't offer a dedicated fuel card, you can order any physical card and restrict its use to specific spending categories, including gas stations.

From the card settings, you can:

  • Define which merchant categories are allowed
  • Set the days the card can be used
  • Establish payment limits according to your needs

This feature is particularly useful for managing employee expenses, controlling department budgets, or restricting cards to specific business purposes like fuel, transportation, or office supplies.
