You can initiate up to 400 transfers at once by uploading a .CSV file in your Qonto app.
💡Good to know: It is possible to send bulk transfers as instant, but please note, we can’t guarantee that all bulk transfers will be processed as instant.
You can export a .CSV file from a simple spreadsheet.
đź’ˇ However, please ensure that your file includes these columns:
- beneficiary_name
- iban
- amount
- currency
- reference
They're all necessary for the execution of the transfer.
To initiate a bulk transfer using a .CSV file, simply follow these steps:
- Click on Business account in the menu on the left of your web app.
- Click on Transfers and then on Make a transfer.
- Select SEPA bulk transfer in euros → Upload a file.
- Download our CSV template and consult our guidelines for CSV files which are linked there to help you with correctly formatting your CSV file.
- Once you are done with the formatting of your CSV file, drag and drop or click on the drag and drop zone to select your CSV file from your computer and upload it.
đź’ˇ An error message will appear if there are any issues with the file format or the contents of the file and specify which issue was encountered.
- Click on Continue once your file has successfully been uploaded.
- The web app will prompt you to Review transfer details.
Here you can review transfer details and make any changes if necessary for each beneficiary from your uploaded file before clicking on Continue.
đź’ˇ Any missing or invalid data will be highlighted in red with a brief description of the problem.
- Select which account to debit and optionally schedule the transfer before clicking on Continue.
- Take a one last look at the summary and review if everything is correct before clicking on Confirm.
đź’ˇ If you have set up Strong Customer Authentication on your account, you will receive a confirmation request on your associated phone.
⚠️ Make sure that:
your file contains less than 400 transactions
there is no missing field
your file only contains operations in EUR
your file does not contain an IBAN outside the SEPA scheme
the beneficiary name or the reference are not too long
your file does not contain any special characters (é, è, ¨, ^, ...)
your account has been topped up before proceeding
you do not invert any columns of your file, and respect the template downloaded
How do I split my exported data into separate columns?
Depending on the accounting software you use, all exported data may appear in a single column and you will need to split it into separate columns to make it readable.
For Microsoft Excel:
- Select the column containing the data, then go to Data → Text to columns.
- Choose Delimited.
- Select the delimiter that separates your data (space, comma, semicolon, or other).
- Select the columns where the data should be distributed and then click Finish.
For Google Sheets:
- Select the column containing the data, then go to Data → Split text to columns.
- It detects separators automatically by default, but if this doesn't work, switch to one of the other offered options (comma, semicolon, period, space, custom) until the data is properly distributed to adjacent columns.
