How does company formation work with Qonto and beglaubigt.de?
Company formation with Qonto and beglaubigt.de is completely digital with eID (online ID function) or in person with a notary in your region. This saves you valuable time compared to traditional methods.
Important! The notary fees and ongoing costs for the Qonto account tariff are not included in the price of the incorporation packages with our partner beglaubigt.de.
Which legal forms are supported?
Company formation for the following legal forms is enabled via beglaubigt.de only:
- GbR
- eGbR
- UG i.G.
- GmbH i.G.
If you already have an existing company, you can choose the flow for existing companies instead.
Requirements for company formation
- Company headquarters: Your company is based in Germany
- Minimum age: 18 years (exceptions for minors with court approval possible)
- Share capital: Minimum 1 Euro for UG, 25,000 Euro for GmbH
- ID (for account opening / KYC): For account opening, a valid ID card or passport from the EU/EFTA area, Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States or German residence permit. More details about accepted identity documents can be found here.
- Business activity: The company's activity must comply with Qonto's guidelines and must not be among the prohibited activities. The list of activities not permitted at Qonto can be found here.

We may require the following documents/information, depending on the legal form and activity:
GmbH / UG
- Commercial register application
- Certificate of incorporation
- List of shareholders
You will receive these documents automatically when founding with beglaubigt.de.
eGbR / GbR
- Partnership agreement
- Handelsregister excerpt (Handelsregisterauszug) (eGbR only)
- Transparency Register excerpt (Transparenzregisterauszug) (eGbR only)
- KYC verification from all partners
- Power of attorney (joint representation)
- Additional licenses/permits, if the activity requires them
Detailed process of company formation with Qonto and beglaubigt
1) Complete questionnaire and data collection
You conveniently enter all relevant master data online (e.g., legal form, partner/shareholder information, business address, management where applicable, company name where applicable, and business purpose).
For multiple partners/shareholders, the information is collected individually for each person.
2) Automatic contract preparation
Based on your information, the required documents are prepared.
For UG i.G. / GmbH i.G., you can typically choose between:
- Model protocol formation (faster), or
- Individual articles of association (customizable)
All documents are provided as ready-to-use templates.
3) Appointment confirmation and coordination
You will receive an appointment confirmation by email with all important information.
beglaubigt.de coordinates express appointments throughout Germany and can often offer a notarization appointment as early as the following day.
4) Notarial certification (digital or in person)
Digital option
An authorized notary conducts the legally required certification via video conference. Identification is done via eID (online ID function) with the AusweisApp Bund. The notary explains the contract, answers questions and reads the essential contents aloud. At the end, you sign the document electronically – completely legally valid.

In-person option
If digital certification is not desired or possible (no online ID function), an appointment will be arranged in person with a notary in your region.
5) Integrated business account opening (optionally with eID)
After the notary appointment, we will directly open your Qonto business account – fully integrated into the formation process. The account opening runs parallel to the formation and typically takes a few business days.
The eID also enables a completely digital identification for account opening for already existing companies via the AusweisApp Bund, alternatively without eID via our partner IDNow using video identification.
6) Completion of formation and account activation
You receive all documents digitally via your personal customer area.
Your company formation progresses via the beglaubigt.de flow, and your Qonto account is activated based on the required proofs/documents for your legal form.
Timeframe - How long does the formation take?
The duration of the formation essentially depends on two factors:
- how quickly you submit your documents and complete your information
- how quickly the notary appointment and the related registrations/entries take place

What costs can I expect when forming a company?

The formation costs consist of several components. The price depends, among other things, on the selected package and any additional services.
Are there additional costs besides the basic fee at beglaubigt.de?
Important! The notary fees and ongoing costs for the Qonto account tariff are not included in the price of the incorporation packages with our partner beglaubigt.de.
In most cases, our partner's complete package is sufficient for the formation (without notary fees). However, additional costs may arise if:
- particularly individual documents are needed (e.g., complex clauses for UG i.G./GmbH i.G.),
- a foreign partner/shareholder is involved and special documents are required (e.g., certified translations),
- additional consulting services (e.g., legal) are desired.
These costs are transparently stated in the package price. There are no hidden fees.
